MISSION STATEMENT :
To provide superior accurate care at reasonable costs to our patrons by giving our patrons the attention they expect and deserve.

Hixson Drug was established by William Hixson in 1923. He was very involved in community betterment and was elected to the Missouri State Senate in 1932. Ford Haguewood, a pharmacist, became the manager of the pharmacy and later purchased the business in the late 1940's.

My goal as a student in pharmacy school, was to own and operate an independent community pharmacy. In 1979, my wife Carolyn, and I purchased Hixson Drug from the Haguewood family. We have lived the American dream as small business owners and additionally providing outstanding pharmacy care for our patrons.

We believe in, and support community efforts. I served on the Ozark School Board for 18 years, 16 of which as President. We have actively served on numerous boards and committees for the past 30 years.

Our pharmacy has continued to evolve and modernize. We started on the square in Ozark, then in 1985 moved to 3rd Street, and we have been at current location in the Plaza South Center since 2006. We are one of the few pharmacies in Southwest Missouri that have implemented a Robotics system which prevents cross contamination and increases the accuracy and efficiency of the prescriptions.

In early 2009, we opened Apothecary Aromas & More as an extension of the pharmacy to provide alternative health and wellness products to our patrons. And today we are pleased to provide full wellness support in association with Ozark Herbalist. We now have a fully integrated wellness clinic and pharmacy that serves a multi-state region.

We are still Home-Owned and operated and proudly serve Ozark and the surrounding communities. Although technology and medications change, we are committed to caring and serving you, our customer. We thank you for your patronage and continued business. We will modernize but not compromise.
